Union Star R-II School District

Thank you to the Union Star volunteer Fire Department. Terry Workman and Doug Howard came and talked to the 6th graders about fire safety, having a plan in case of a house fire, and what all they carried on their trucks for our Junior Deputy program!

The Union Star R-2 School District is looking for teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. The district has openings in special education, science, and elementary education. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume, letters of reference, educator certification, other applicable credentials, along with completed district application found on the school web page at www.usr2.com under employment. Union Star R-2 will not be in session tomorrow, Monday, March 16th due to inclement weather.

Second graders recently completed an exciting project! Working with partners, students created their own survey questions and response choices. They then visited another elementary classroom to collect real data from their peers. After gathering their results, students organized the information and created bar graphs to represent their data.

ACES Director position open.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to a high number of student and staff absences caused by illness, school will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 27th to help prevent further spread and allow time for cleaning and recovery. School is expected to resume on Monday, March 2nd and we will provide any updates as needed. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Kids Heart Challenge donations are due tomorrow! Please remember to send your students to school with their collection envelopes or make your final online donations. Make one more push for donations tonight and ask donors if their companies match donations. We’re having a blast getting healthier and helping kids with special hearts!
